Bay Area native and blues guitarist extraordinaire, Tommy Huxley is a man on a mission. Possessing a frightening skill on the fret board far beyond his years, Tommy is here to honor the rich tradition of American Blues music, while taking the audience on an unforgettable ride of technical mastery and showmanship.

Tommy’s travels have seen him performing on stages up and down the great state of California, delivering a fiery musical sermon that pays homage to the legends Freddie King, Albert King, Otis Rush, and Muddy Waters, while simultaneously honoring the fire and electricity of his personal heroes Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Recent months have seen Tommy and Power Grease unleash their explosive Blues in Bay Area venues such as San Francisco’s Grant & Green, The Hayward Bistro, San Jose’s infamous Caravan Lounge, and festivals such as North Beach’s Italian Festival, and Santa Rosa’s home grown Leopalooza.

To compliment his sound, Tommy assembled Power Grease, a two-piece rhythm section that bleeds funk and diligently follows the path blazed by the great bands of James Brown. Bassist Franco Gonzales boats a vast knowledge of vintage funk, Latin percussion, and also showcases his ability in the infamous East Bay funk band BULK. Drummer John Swick cut his teeth in the South Bay’s hard rock scene for many years, before adopting a strict diet of Herbie Hancock’s Headhunters, and 70’s era Miles Davis. The tight, funk grooves, whipping shuffles, and fat bottom end are the perfect compliment to Tommy’s six-string pyrotechnics, and guaranteed to get people moving their feet and shaking their hips.

In 2010, four-song demo quickly made it’s way through the hands of the Bay Area blues community, and 2011 sees the release of Power Grease’s full-length EP on Big Rib Records, which not only showcases Tommy’s guitar prowess, but his song writing skills as well.

Whether playing his guitar behind his head, with his teeth, or fingers moving with the speed of a hummingbird, Tommy’s music is a voyage into the deep Blues, packed with enough rhythm and rock get even the most seasoned listener up on their feet.
