The Radium Girls

Though band members Jeff Demas (guitar/vocals), Ben Brown (bass), and Kevin Ewer (drums) aren't girls and don't actually glow in the dark, it would take a sound-proof Hazmat Suit for fans to shield themselves from their radiating energy and infectious sound. Contagious melodies are joined by moving lyricism while driving riffs bind with deep grooves, as influences as wide as rock, punk, reggae, western, and pop are united into their cohesive and high-energy sound.

Based out of Rochester, NY, the three-piece band began its life in a tiny closet in the basement of an old gym, upgrading to an abandoned pool in fall of 2008. Fire and safety codes finally forced the band out of the pool in Spring 2009, but the pool's gas leaks, piles of junk, and asbestos will never be forgotten. All rising seniors at the University of Rochester, Jeff is majoring in optics while Kevin and Ben delve into economics and entrepreneurship respectively. They have performed in venues across Rochester and beyond, including Water Street Music Hall, The Bug Jar, Dubland Underground, the Lovin' Cup, Montage Music Hall, and Monty's Krown among others.

And now, beginning on May 14th, the Radium Girls are finally entering the studio to put down their professional, full-length debut album. Listen and download the free demos, and get ready for the debut release in Fall 2010!
