An ex T61 user looking for a new home.

Just quit all bands that I was a member of. I've had it with the song spam messages! For the love of Pete, no more song reminders, Davy Hamburger!!

My next new favorite feature would be being able to just hit play and have random songs selected to play (hopefully those that are generally doing well in popularity). So that way I can find new songs without having to actively search.

Hi, I noticed you left all those "groups" you were in. Don't worry, we're working on a new groups feature, which will be announced very soon for a final round of feedback from the community. In the meantime, I just published a blog post on the spam issue happening with the current groups that people have created: http://uvumi.com/teamuvumi/blog/386

Awesome! Thanks a lot Marshall! When the group thing happens I will rejoin the "bands". I just got way too annoyed at the song spam. :)

you seem to know what's what - so why not encourage listeners to maintain a top 10 chart that they alter once a month instead of every day. that way the artists chart wouldn't fluctuate as crazy as does. Like your cat. no I'm asking you to listen to my music.

Yea, maybe that would help - although I think really the algorithm for determining the top songs probably needs to be adjusted. Or I would also like to see a couple different kinds of charts (i.e. most starred).

(re cat: Thanks! she loves to hang out in the park. :) )

stumbled on your blog through being in the same band/group:
if you didn't find the feature yet: you can indeed shuffle playlists, if you click the grey on white arrow (below the player's counter) you'll get an expanded playlist, the icon (some handy icons there!) that looks like two interlocked arrows shuffles the list. :-) enjoy.

Oh sorry! I thought that I could upload my own songs, only as a place to save them online (as in last.fm or imeem - not sure how they deal with it legally). Thesixtyone didn't allow that feature.

It would probably be easier for you guys to control people uploading songs if you split accounts between listener and artist, and only give artist accounts the ability to upload songs.

      I understand

OK Penny, I kinda figured it was something like that, but I don't think you can use this site that way. It's not legal, and it would be unfortunate to get the site in trouble. I am liking it here, and I think Marshall wants to listen to our ideas about how to make it better. Peace!

    Who is this?
    Left by ThomasAD3, on Jan 25, 2010 - 7:53
It says "Death Cab for Cutie" on the song list, but "PennyLane246" when you play the song. What's up with that?

      Not too sure...

I just joined this website (an ex T61 user), so I haven't figured it all out yet. I uploaded my death cab for cutie album, so I guess it is linked to me as the uploader - the band itself didn't upload the song.

Unfortunately, we don't support that kind of music sharing on Uvumi. We must respect copyright laws, and if you don't own the copyright or have explicit permission to distribute the songs, you can't legally share them here. Would you mind taking down the songs that don't belong to you? I know t61 worked that way, and honestly I'm not sure how they had it figured out from a legal standpoint.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the site even if you can't use it to share other peoples' recordings!

        Thanks for joining!
