Lyrics
I know it's not your way but it still kills
Feels like a virus that doesn't sit still
The rope is cut now I'm floating free
In truth there's no anger left in me
Let's find a new way to say, "I love you"
Let's stop by our grave and chisels new names
For the hope that your voice remains next to mine
Singing our favorite lines
We were two ghosts freightening their hearts
Floating from cafes in Ester Short Park
Your hand stuck to mine with the grip of a locked vise
There we were never questioning our lies
Let's find a new way to say, "I love you"
Let's stop by our grave and chisels new names
For the hope that your voice remains next to mine
Singing our favorite lines

Jon Hecox - Let's Find A New Way

Let's Find A New Way
- Title: Let's Find A New Way
- Artist: Jon Hecox
- Duration: 00:03:32
- Played: 314
- Date Recorded: Apr 10th, 2010
Recorded in one night - April 10th 2010, in my bedroom... in my parents house. I'd just moved my recording gear from the garage to my room and it took a few days to get everything hooked up right, but after I got it proper; I felt like it was gonna be good.
This is the first recording I've done in this room - and it was all done in one night - to which I'm proud of (hence, repeating it)
I started at around 7:00pm and stopped at 12:30am... not too shabby for me.
And I think it turned out pretty decent.
I'd like to remind anyone who is actually reading this (well, first off, if it isn't me, then THANK YOU SO DAMN MUCH for even caring, or even accidentally stumbling upon this and not clicking off something more entertaining - I probably would have by now).
Oh, yes, I meant to remind you that I am NOT a producer/engineer. Not even hardly a "gear" guy. I just LOVE playing music, especially guitar and even more, writing song on guitar and singing to them. It's therapy for me - no joke.
And getting to record something (you're happy with) is like have that therapy session becoming a tangible love interest. It's beyond my vocabulary for description.
I love it.
And since that love exists to vibrantly - I must share it.
So here is my first song for my new album, "For Our Pleasure..." - sangs called Let's Find a New Way.
It's simply about simplifying loves conundrums.
And the end of the chorus uses a Devon Sproule progression. I proud to have incorporated it.
