      • 17:45 - Jared Hallock: zouk? i don't even know what that means...i will google it.

        thanks
      • 15:43 - Aaron Robert Hall: Hey there Jared, great tunes. It is a lot of fun getting to watch you in action.

I would have to say that the genre would have to be Zouk. At least thats what it sounds like to me. Keep on rocking out brother man.
      • 13:06 - Jared Hallock: i think beer might be my inspiration:)
      • 11:04 - Marshall Stokes: Good question... I think we may have to invent a new genre description for that stuff, it's very different, unlike anything I have heard before. I'll come back after watching the video a few more times and thinking about genres. Where do you get inspiration for this kind of composition?

The holiday shows in Riggins & at the Egyptian went really well! Riggins provided the peaceful intimate gig I was expecting & Curtis Stigers’ Xtreme Holiday Xtravaganza was sold out all three nights--a ton of energy to propel me into the new musical year.

So far the new year brings a gig at the College of Southern Idaho with the Hallock, Jensen, Hartung Experimental Jazz Trio, along with a solo marimba show in McCall (see the “About” page for dates). I’m also excited to announce that the Off Center Dance Project will use one of my songs for a video they’re shooting!

A new music festival planned for Boise is causing quite a buzzzzzzzz. Treefort Music Fest has great bands swinging through Boise after the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas. Bands you can expect to see are Built To Spill, Of Montreal & Finn Riggins, among many others. I hope to be a part of this festival & will find out later this month. Please keep your fingers crossed and send some good mojo my way!

    Until next time...j

    Hey all,

BlueJay and the Campfire Choir is pleased to announce their debut show at Saint Alphonsus Festival of Trees, Sunday November 29th at 6:00pm. The Campfire Choir is a group that features local musicians and friends, kazoos, noise makers, and very happy songs. The musicians rotate, depending on who happens to be in town during a show. The Festival of Trees, located at the Centre on the Grove, is a Boise tradition which marks the beginning of the holiday season with a variety of musical acts surrounded by delightfully decorated holiday-themed trees. Stop by to enjoy catchy BlueJay original tunes and wander around in a winter wonderland.

In Other News: The BlueJay and the Campfire Choir song “Fallin’ Rather Quickly” can now be heard on Uvumi. (Look for “Falling Mix1”)
    Check it out!

The cool thing about this site is that you can set up a variety of "bands" and manage it from one location! I am managing 3. One of them is Project213.

Project213 will have a c.d. released this year, and i am excited to write music for this group because the musicians who rotate through are all great friends of mine that I have been performing with for years. Project213 was created as a group for the purpose of rotating musicians through, giving the compositions a different flavor each performance.

Jared Hallock-Experimental. This is a catch all "band" for the variety of experimental music I do. My experimental writing tends to follow the tradition of Phillip Glass, and John Cage.

Jared Hallock. This is a catch all for all the other music I write (and/or perform) that doesn't fit into the other categories.....soundtracks, theatrical percussion, ditties, etc.

Each one of these groups offers completely different flava's...so please become a fan of each.

    rock!
