Carlson Pierre (born November 22, 1984) [better known simply as Grimass in the streets], is an independent/unsigned rapper and writer from Miami, Florida. Grimass started rapping at the age of 12 and has since fell in love with music. As he got older and better, he decided to make music as his profession.

The name Grimass is the Haitian Creole word for Grimace which is defined by the Merriam-Webster Dictionary as “a facial expression usually of disgust, disapproval, or pain.” He received that name from his mother because as young child, he was always running around making funny faces. Grimass, the third of four children, grew up in a poor little Haiti neighborhood and didn’t always experience the best that life has to offer. However, he always believed that through his music and his talent, he will make a better tomorrow for his parents and siblings. Music has always kept him focus and at times his sole hope and best friend.

Grimass doesn’t just write and create music, he lives it. He describes himself as a “Lyrical Assassin who is just short of being the hottest thing since sliced bread.” Grimass is a studio rat whose vision and dedication is like no others. His goal is not only to save hip-hop but to take it to ground breaking levels never reached before. If it’s “bubble gum” rap you’re looking for, you can stop right here because Grimass is all about being innovative, catchy, real and his music is rich.
You are liable to catch an ‘ear-gasm’ because his music takes you on an emotional journey. You will smile, you will laugh, you will dance and you may even shed a tear. Don’t just take my word for it, because that would just be crazy. You wouldn’t purchase a Lamborghini without checking under the hood because you would be highly upset to find out it came with a Hyundai engine instead of what you paid for.

Grimass has also collaborated with various local artists and has been featured on their projects. If you have not gotten a chance to hear his records, go out to http://www.grimass.com to download and listen to his music. Grimass’ music is something to be experienced, so go ahead, do your ears a favor and take a listen and be sure to come back for more.
