Members

Based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, CL is the result of a long musical partnership between founding members Brian Beise and Jonathan Durham. Now complete with banjoist Daniel Hallum, drummer Nathan Miller and lead guitarist Chase Gamble, and having completed their debut EP, "A Movement Back and Forth", the band is at work on their first full album, tentatively titled "Letter Through Your Window".

A Movement Back And Forth:
This music belongs in mixed bag playlists and cross-genre collections. It draws as much from Sting as from Sufjan Stevens and Bon Iver. The songs are meant to be put on and ignored like pretty wallpaper. Or focused on, stared at like extra pretty wallpaper. This is not only a prologue to the album to come, but also a finished work in its own right. John Keats' term negative capability refers to the capacity to accept uncertainty and the unresolved. There is a movement in these songs from wild desire towards that broken kind of peace. A coming together of Separation and his brother Hope. The disc starts over the way a new day brings new desire, and the movement begins again.

Hi there, holy africa is a great song. You have an own sound and interesting arrangements. I like when music can be performed on an acoustic guitar and vocals and still feel sufficient, like Lazarus.
