I love Take The Day! (off). Are the instruments all recorded live or do you use some kind of space age gizmo to get that really full sound?

  There are no real instruments used or harmed in the making of that track. Everything there was prorammed using my puter, and mostly Native Instruments outstanding collection of fake instruments. Battery for drums, kontakt for most other sounds, processed through guitar rig for some decent distortion and other effects. Part of the fullness of sound was due to the two guitar parts, very much complementary, being thrown pretty far right and left. I've always wanted vocals over it though, maybe a little bit cars-y.

    My mixing skills consist of switching the microphone on at a known distance and hoping for the best. I'm always up for a bit of colab. But I'm not sure that my limited vocal style would add much to your work. TBH it would probably take away ;)

if you have a short attention span, please check out matter undermined starting at just about the midway point. some jazz/gospel/hip hop madness that came out extra fresh... the first half of the songs is a little meh.
